Coffee Tables
The first coffee tables in Europe were made in Great Britain during the mid-Victorian era, particularly in the year 1868 when a small table designed by E. W. Godwin was listed as a coffee table. In those times, they were originally used to place teacups.
Coffee tables became highly preferred all over the world at the beginning of the 20th century. Since then, their use as tables, no matter in big living rooms or in smaller ones, has become so popular and common that even today, our coffee tables might be the one piece of furniture that we use the most in any of our living spaces, but unfortunately, the only one that we are the least thankful for. But if they had not been invented, where would we put our cookie plate with the mug full of the delicious latte that we sip while reading A Photographer’s Life by Annie Leibovitz, can you imagine that?
